The Union Company's steamer Kainona which arrived from Westpcxt last evening, experienced most unpleasant weather on the rim up the coast. The vessel left Westport on Tuesday morning last, and when six hours oat encountered a heavy westerly pale. Tremendous seas smashed upon the decks, ripping up steam-pipe casings, bending the bulwark railing, and doing other damage of a minor character. The wind shifted to the south, in the afternoon and the I big seas caused the ELamona. to lurch and roil so violently that she tad to be hove to for several hours. The stormy weather continued till after rounding the Cape. The F.-H.-S. Banffshire, which arrived from Tokomaru Bay early this J morning, also reports a rough passage. J.C-L.
