The-St. Paul's branch of the Church of England Men's Society has decided to establish a C-EJtLS. Hostel in the parish, and for that purpose has purchased for £950 a seven-roomed bouse in. Symonds-streei, next door to the vicarage and nearly opposite the church. A sum of £100n has been borrowed from' tHe Diocesan Trust Board, and with a portion of this the building will De thoroughly renovated and fitted up so as to accommodate, some sis or eight men. The idea is that the hostel will form a rallying point for churchmen on their arrival for the first time in Auckland, and it is expected that the receipts should be sufficient to pay off the loan in course of time. A similar -work for young women is being done by the Girls' Friendly Society in the Diocese of Auckland, and it is hoped'that the new departure will be of service to members of C.E3LS. and churchmen generally. When the initial loan is paid off the property will become an endowment of St. Paul's Parish, ''and the trustees have already been offered a. substantial advance on the price paid. Mr. A.
