NEW ENGLAND COTTON STRIKE

A FIVK PER CENT INCREASE. NEW YORK, March 12. In connection with the Lawrence strike, 150,000 cotton and ■woollen mill operatives have secured an increase in wages of five per cent, which applies throughout New England. It is believed that this concession by the masters will allay the unrest that is permeating thi whole area. Conferences of the strikers are being held.
