N.Z. STUDENTS' CONFERENCE.
(From Our Owii Correspondent) CAMBRIDGE, Saturday. A meeting of those interested in tin suitable reception and entertainment of the students attending the Conference, which is to be held in Cambridge this Christmas, was held on Friday., There were present: —Messrs. Brooks (voted to the chair), Tudehope, Richards, lewis, Hammond, Reid, Ellis, jun., Marshall, Hopkirk, Veale, Macky, and Revs. Gow, Tinsley and Spobfciswtood. Apologia were received from Archdeacon Willis,, Messrs. Ellis, Butler, Ferguson, Tfytnall, Walker, Priestley, Isherwood, and E.'J. Wilkinson. Mr. Macky was appointed lion, secretary. The chairman drew attention to the importance of the approaching gathering, and pointed out that the visitors represented a-large pre. portion of the thinking and educate! section of the.rising generation, from all. parts of the Dominion. Cambridge.was .selected by them on account of its natu- 8 ral and acquired beauty; and it behoved the townspeople to unite in giving the) visitors a hearty welcome. Those pro sent entered cordially into the proposal, and the following programme was arranged: Friday, December 28th: Garden party and reception by the Mayor and the president of the Y-MjCjA, at the residence of the latter, "The Lightwoods," at 3 p.m. Saturday, 30th: Teniis, and match with the local tennis club. Monday. January Ist: Various drives into the country, and a picnic, Tuesday, 2nd} Trip to Matngakawa. The mornings and evenings will be devoted exclusiveiT to the important proceedings of conference for which the students will be igaftered; but the afternoons will be [available for recreation.
