At the sports meeting- of the Wellington Athletic Club on Saturday G. N. Hill (Auckland) won the one-mile handicap Id 4*a. 22 2-55., being only two-fifths of a second outside Shrubb's Australasian reCord. In the three-mile e?ent he filled to break the re.-ord of 14m. 495., held by W. P. Simpson, rtotog only 15m. 7 2-ss. He did not appear to posh hlmsett M. Opie (Christchurcli) ran well !i the 100 yds and 220 yds events, toot was not brilliant. He gained third place In the 100 yds to C. T. Yonag (11yds) and A. T. Duuran (2yds), t*e winner's time being lO l-ss. In the secoad heat of the Z»yds event Ople ran splendidly, but stumbled and gained only third place. The time of the -winner— J. Wilton (7yds)—was 22 3-ss. In the 100 yds race, from scratch, A. T. Duncan won, with Messenger (llasterton) second and Coard third. In the 220 yds race, from scratch, Coard won, with R.
