FRANCO-GERMAN AGREEMENT.
WHAT C-EKMAHY ASKED FOB. CONGO AND GABOON COUNTRY. (Received 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, December 15. The debate in the Chamber of Deputies on the Franco-German situation and the Moroccan agreement was opened by the Comte de Mun before a crowded house. Tension was created when 1 France refused, to agree to this proposal, j Germany then suggested that she be given access to the Congo River, and -afterwardis proposed to divide Morocco | iuto two zones, in one of which Germany ; would have the advantage. The outline of | the ultimate agreement was only decided upon in October. Spain was now asked to pay an equitable price for the benefits conferred by the Franco-German agreement. '
Comte de Hun’s interpellation was negatived "by 448 to 98.
