SUBURBAN LAND TRANSACTION
TAKAPUNA DISTRICT. An important land transaction in that favourite marine suburb, Taka.puna, was successfully concluded yesterday, when a small local syndicate purchased the wellknown property of Mr. W. Thornes, consisting of about 15 acres of land sloping towards a private beach almost adjoining the famous Takapuna beach. Messrs. Paul Hansen a|nd Co. and Messrs. Tom Hadfield and Sons acted as joint agents in the transaction, and we are informed by Mr. Hansen that the property will be forthwith sub-divided into, quarter-of-an-acre allotments, and placed on the market within a fortnight. On the property are many magnificent Pohutukawa and many other native trees,, and almost every allotment will have a beach frontage. The property is situated along the main road within fonr minutes' walk of the Mon Desir Hotel, and will continue to be called "Thornes' Estate."
