(. auLerburv, 3jrt; North island, aid. Lamb.—The market is steady, with good demand for all lamb, stock moderate. < aaterbury, sid; other than Canterbury, sd. Beef.—The market is very dull. Supplies of American chilled beef are large, and are selling at hinds 3jd, fores 2id. Lutter.—The market is quieter. Supplies that were not obtainable here on account of the strike are now obtainable. Australian, 120/; Dauiah, 132/; Siberian. 116/. Cheese.- The market is firm at an advance. New Zealand, 66V. Supplies of New Zealand cheese are nearly exhausted. Prospects for next season are encouraging. Hemp.-—The market continues dull. New Zealand, good fair, on spot, per ton £l3 10/; fair grade. ■£!«; fair current Manila, £TjO: forward shipment of New Zealand good fair, £2O; fair grade, £l9; fair current Manila, £2O. At my nsoal fortnightly sale at Rahotu on Tuesday 1 had a fair entry, mostly of springers and young cnttie. The demand throughout was not quite so keen for younir cattle, but most lines were quirted tit the hammer at full market rates. Yearling heifers made £2 2/ to £2 10/, yearling steers 80/ to £2 4/; weaners 16/ to 25/. empty heifers £2 14/6 to £3 19/. fat cows. £5 7/ to £5 17/, springing rows £4 to £6, springing heifers £3 18/ to £7 2/6. heifers In calf and late £i to £4 10/, store cows 36/6 to £3 11/.
