THE MYSTERIOUS RAFT.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHJUSTUHUBiCH, this day. Asked as to whether the raft which was found washed ashore near Parengurenga a short time ago might have belonged to the Terra Nova, Mr. Kinsey, the New Zealand representative of the Antarctic expedition, said that in all probability it had come from the vessel. In order to obtain soundings, it was necessary to have fixed points, and it was arranged that a raft somewhat similar to the one described as having 'been washed ashore should be constructed. As a matter of fact, quarter-casks were purchased in Lyttelton, and he bad procured some bamboo in <7hristchurch, and these articles were taken aboard at the port. The moorings would necessarily be of a fraik character, and In rough weather the raft would be liable to get adrift.
