BANDS AT THE HOSPITAL.

(To the Editor.) - Sir, —As a member of the Hospital ■Board, and one who takes great-interest in music, I-have been.delighted with the attitude of the Auckland bands in providing such excellent concerts on.the lawn at the Hospital on Sunday afternoons. . I have frequently been present at those performances, and I unhesitatingly state that the programmes provided are in every way suitable and their choice difficult to improve upon. I am' sorry Mr. Hulse has been so ill-advised to write in the strain he has regarding one or two •items that have been given, for his views do not correspond with the great majority. The -Hospital Board, as. well as. the general public of Auckland are deeply indebted to'the bands ior.' their self-sac-rificing labours in providing good music to cheer the sick and suffering . in. ' pur hospital.—l am, etc., ■_._ ..;... :..; ~.„.. -V ~.v ~,- - .H. SCHOFIELD. .
