TRAM CAR FATALITY.
ELDERLY WOITAN KILLED. Another fatality, the result of a tramcar accident, occurred last evening in Wellesley-street, when an elderly woman named Mrs. Kate Wallace, of 55, Alex-andra-street, met her death through being knocked down by a car. It appears that the' tram waa being driven towards the city when the deceased made an at- i tempt to cross in front of it. She was, however, not quick enough, with the result that she was knocked down and thrown violently against a pole close by. She was picked up in an Unconscious condition and removed to a house in the vicinity, where medical aid was summoned. Mr 3. Wallace was found to have sustained a fractured skull and serious internal injuries. She warn taken to the hospital, but before arrival at the institution, passed away. An inquest' is being held this afternoon.
