Following is the High Commissioner's market cable, dated London, April 1:— Mutton: The market is weak, and trade for all classes of mutton is very slow, and prices are barely maintained. Choicest N.Z. butter, 108/; Australian, 102/; Danish, 118/; Siberian, 102/. Cheese: Tbe market Is quiet, but holders are firm, New Zealand, 61/. Hemp: The market is very quiet, and nothing is doing. New Zealand, good fair, on spot, per ton £20; fair grade, £10 a/; forward shipment at same price; fair current Manila, spot, £18 15/; forward a-fp-inent,- £19. The output from Manila for the week was 24,000 baleCocksfoot Seed: The market Is firm, with light stocks of cocksfoot seed on hand. Buyers have been offering for cocksfoot seed more freely. The average price of bright clean New Zealand cocksfoot seed, weighing 171bs bushel, 76/ cwt. Wool: The sales closed to-day. There Is great competition, and the market is firm at an advance for all descriptions. Prospects are favourable. 21,000 bales of New Zealand wool were held over. Estimated values, superior merino, 1/ to t/2; medium, lOd to lljd; inferior, 8d to 9Jd; crossbreds, all grades. Hid to 1/2; medium, 9d to lid; coarse, Bid to lOd. LONDON CABLE.
