Irish blight has broken out in a serious form in the potato crops of the Goulbnrn district. The Royal Society has decided to contribute £200 towards the publication of Professor David's Antarctic books. The Duke of Connaught'e visit to South Africa to open the Tnion Parliament cost, as sliown by an item on the Estimates, £40,000. M. Bernstein has voluntarily withdrawn the play "Apres Moi," which hne caused such a commotion when produced at the Comedie Francaise. Mr. Deafcin states that his Government had prepared to issue writs against the coal vend, but the election interrupted the proceedings.
