RETURN OF HON. GEO. FOWLDS.
WSBCOME BACK TO AUCKLAND.
His Worship the Mayor of Auckland will accord a civic reception to the Hon. George Fowlds on his arrival in Auckland from Sydney by the P. and O. steamer Mantua on Friday. The reception will ie held at four o'clock in the afternoon in the council chamber, the previous proposal to hold a public ' reception in the Albert Hall having been dropped on account of the delay of the arrival of the steamer until Friday, which is, of course, a working day. The Hon. Mr. Fowlds, as everyone knows, haß been representing New Zealand at the opening of tbe Federal Parliament ■ of South Africa, and it is tis a repre-1 sontdtive of the Dominion on an important mission thirt the civic welcome is being accorded to him. Tho arrangements are at present not complete, "but it is probable that thare will he only three .speakers, tho Mayor (Mr. I*, J. Bhgnall), the chairman of the IHaribour Board (Si*. A, J.
