CUNARD'S MAMMOTH LINER.

THE CONTRACT LET. TO COST TWO MILLIONS. LONDON, December 9. The contract for the Cunard Steamship Company's new liner, which is to be considerably larger than the Lusitania and Mauretania, but with a slightly lower rate of speed, has been let to John Brown and Company, of the Clydebank Works. The new vessel will be SBsft in length and 95ft in beam. She will have a tonnage of 50,000, and her turbines will produce a speed of 23 knots. The steamer will carry 3790 passengers, will be equipped with a swimming bath and a theatre, and cost £2,000,000.
