KAURI GUM MAI^K-RfP "Auckland Star" Office, Wednesday, November 30, 1910. •There was a little movement In the direction of buying good ordinary gum towards the end ol last week, at prices that were against sellers, but this appears to have since died away, and now the market is as quiet ac ever. The supplies for the month to date are, strange to say, identical with those for October, namely, 675 tons. What is more singular Is that for the eleven months of this year, 7477 tons were sent in, as compared -with 7307 tons for a similar period In 1909, so that there was only a difference of 30 tons. A conference is to be held on the 7th of December at Hamilton regarding the proposed Waikato-Manukau-Waitemata canal, to which invitations have been sent to various bodies to aend delegates. Mr. Leo Myers (vice-president), and Mr. J. M. Mennie, have been appointed to attend and represent the Auckland Chamber of. Commerce. The president (Mr. J. H. Gunson) is, unfortunately, unable to attend, owing to a previous engagement. After the conference there is to be a banquet tendered the visitors in the evening. The Auckland Ctty Band, dnder Bandmaster J. West, will play the following programme to-night in Albert Park, commencing at 8 p.m.:—Slow inarch, "Regalin" (R.
