MEETINGS.
DBVONPOET BOBOTJGH COUNCIL. The fortnightly meeting of the Deronport Borough Council was held last nignt. Present: The Mayor (Mr. Wβ. Handler), Messrs. W. W. Timewell, H. Wilding, J. Taylor, J. Mays. T. ConaWine, Capt. Gao. McKenzie, and Dr. W. G. Guinness. Hirst-avenue. —It was resolved that if the contractor enters Into a bond to complete Oie work of formation, the Council will Immediately expedite the transfer of dedication. Rubbish.—Mr J. MaeKlnlay complained of rubbish being deposited In Spring-street. It was resolved to give the matter immediate attention. Footpaths.—The Foreman of Works reported that the contractor for tarring an«l sanding the borough footpaths had commenced the work, and was making good progress. He estimated that about £150 would be saved on the work through calling for new tenders. Pumping Plant. —In reply to the Engineer's request for quotations for a pumping plant for Stanley I..iy drainage, Messrs. J. Chambers and Son ottered to supply a complete plait, delivered and erected, 'for il3sf It was resolved to accept the offer. Tenders. —The following tenders were received for Victoria Park drainage:—R. C Magee (accepted), £3803 1/7: Frank Luoy and Co., £4493 5/3; W. Parsons and Sous £3997 15/.
