POTATO BLIGHT.

After having conducted a test of the drying process in stamping out Irish blight in potatoes on a small ecale at his laboratory, the Victorian (Jovermnent Pathologist (Mr. MeAJpine) caused a large plot of land at Burnley Horticultural (Junlens to be planted with potatoes iteit had been subjected to a temperature of between 120 and 1.'50 degrees. One-eighth of an acre was used in the experiment. Half was planted with potatoee that had been subjected to the drying process; and the other half with potatoes that had not been beated. The potatoes that had been under a temperature of 1-0 degrees are growing equally as well a.s the others, and the results of the tewt are regarded a«s very satisfactory evidence of the efficacy of the drying process in free-ing potatoes from Irish blight.
