WAITEMATA CLUB'S ANNUAL I ' C MEETING. ' j There was a good attendance at -the annual meeting of the Waitemata Bowling Clttb, which was held at the residence of the president of the. club (Mr H. M. Shep- ' herd), Birkenhead. The report and balancesheet, which were adopted, showed that the club had had a successful year, though none - of the teams Iri the association tournament 1 had managed to bring any trophies home with them. Mr A. J. Redgrave had the honour of winning the Skeates cup, wM_st Mr Beg. Shepberd carried off the president's ; pair of presentation bowls. The pair'bf ' buckles presented by Mr W. H. Bartlett. had also roused some keen contests The receipts for the year totalled £84 18/1, and : the expenditure £61 10/3. The liabilities i of .the club now stood at £73- 9/1, as against which the club had assets in the shaDe of , plant and building. -_■_.«_, The following officers were ■ elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr W. H Bartlett; vice-presidents, Messrs H. M ' Shepherd and B. Van Veen; secretary- _n_ treasurer, Mr D. Elst-n; committee, Messrs ' F. A. Pitt George Fraser, J. Leonard, E ' Clark, H. Free_h and Reg. Shepherd; uHrtch and selection committee, Messrs S S Kin- - nalrd, W. Dow and A. B. Greenslade-' anditor, Mr A. Taylor; entertainment commit- ' tee, Messrs Van Veen, R. Shepherd, B G ' Skeates and Leonard. Votes of thanks ' were accorded to Mr J. Maginnis, the retir- 1 ing secretary and treasurer; also, Mr K. Clark, green superintendent, for their ser- < vices to the clnb. It was decided to open - the green on Saturday, October 22. M
