THREE BROTHERS DROWNED.
DISASTER IN VICTORIA. A DINGHY CAPSIZED. MELBOURNE, August 28. '■> A sad boating fatality occurred at " Hobson's Bay to-day, when three brothers, i named Ritter, aged 27, 14 and 10 respectively, were drowned. '» The deceased were out fishing in a 10ft 3 dinghy, accompanied by a young man named Molteran, who is 24 years old. Suddenly, a stiff breeze sprang up, and a the quartet became alarmed. ', j A hurried attempt was made to run - i for shelter, and too great a spread of canvas was hoisted. The small vessel was driven under water in sight of a number of people who were on the pier, ami floated keel upwards. The occupants of the boat managed to scramble on to the bottom of their upturned craft, and a life-boat and motorlaunch hastened to their assistance. The three brothers were washed off ! and drowned before help arrived, and J their companion was rescued in an cxc . tremely exhausted condition. The boat was nanied the Venture.
