NO NEED FOR ENVY.
TAFT'S APPEAL TO CANADA. NEW "iORK, July 2L President Taft, speaking at Eastport, Maine, and emphasising the desirability of closer trade relations with Canada, said they had reached a time when neither country ought to be envious of the other. Each ought to be convinced that the more one prospered the more likely was her neighbour to prosper. The President rejoiced that the AngloAmerican controversies had been settled, or were being settled, by arbitration. This was the first time in history that such a thing could be said.
