Thornes, president of the Auckland Bowling Club, speaking on behalf of all Auckland bowlers generally, moved a vote of condolence with the relatives and friends of the late Mr. Thomas Ussber, a well-known and popular bowler, in their bereavement, which was carried with silence lv the usual manner. The annnal meeting of the Cambridge Bowling Club was held on Friday evening, the president (Mr. Robert Fisher) being in the chair. The chairman's report stated the past year had been one of progress, both financially and socially. The various matches played during the season had been well contested, the first-year players showing up remarkably well. Mr. T. Richards won the champion singles, but, unfortunately, owing to the match being concluded too late, he could not represent the club at the champion of champions' contest held In Auckland. A handsome silver cup had been presented by Mr. Murrell for competition, to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals; and Mr. Richards had won it. A letter was received from the father of the club (Mr. Walter Wright), who now resides In Ponsonby, accompanied by a -pair of bowls he had presented to the club, expressing regret at the death of his old friend, Mr. Wells, and stating he hoped to be with the Cambridge players during the coming season. This announcement was received with much applause. The prizes won during the past season were then presented. The following officers were then appointed: —President, Mr. G. E. Clark; vicepresidents, Messrs. Hammond and Butler; hon. secretary, Mr. A. Camerou; treasurer, Mr. F. J. Brooks; auditor, Mr. J. Luudon; management committee, Messrs. G. Robertson, T. Richards, W. McDermott, R. Fisher, S. Lewis, and J. Ferguson, together with tho president, vice-presidents, secretary, and treasurer. It was decided to have only one handicapper, and Mr. R. Can- was appointed. Match committee: Messrs. Clark, Fisher, Robertson, Richards, and White. Green committee: Messrs. Buckland, Fisher, and Ferguson. Messrs. Parry aud Priestley were appointed delegates to the Northern Bowling Association, and after the usual votes of thanks, the meeting, terminated.
