LAKE COMO MURDER.
EXTRADITION PROCEEDINGS. ROME, July 10. A formal demand for the extradition of Porter Charlton, the Lake Como murderer, has been forwarded to the Italian Embassy in Washington (U.S.). This is the first time that Italy has applied for the extradition of an American subject, and as Italy has on more than one occasion refused to extradite Italians wanted for crimes in other countries, the outcome of the present negotiations over Charlton is being awaited with great, interest.
