A terrible railway "disaster is reported from Marshaltown," lowa, where an ex- | press train was derailed whilst rounding I a sharp curve. { A sleeping car telescoped a smoking | car and a day coach. Heavy loss of ; life was the result, forty-five persons being killed and twenty-one injured. The wrecked cars caught fire after th'; accident, and those who were engaged in rescuing the injured passengers were thereby compelled to abandon their efforts. The train was travelling at a high rat.; of speed when the accident occurred, and this is believed to have caused the disaster.
