Her Excellency Lady Plunket visited the Maori Girls' School, Parnell, this afternoon, and to-night the Governor and Lady Plunket will witness -"The Breed of" the Treaha-ms" at His Majesty's Theatre. On Thursday afternooa their Excellencies will visit the Roman Catholic Orphanage at Ponsonby, and on Friday afternoon Lady Plunk 4 will entertain the members of tlfe Trained Nurses' Association at after-noon-tea at Government House. The Hon. Dr. Findlay'3 contemplated ' public address in Auckland has been postponed until after the session. Mr G. H_ Foster, of Palmerston North, was an arrival by the Main Trunk train, this morning, and is staying at the Star Hotel. Mr E. V. Parker, of Dtraedin, arrived in Auckland by the through train thi3 morning, and is a guest at the Star Hotel during his stay here. The Rev. J. A. Graham, of India, who ha 3 been a recent visitor at the Royal Hotel, left by the Wimmera for Sydneyyesterday, en route to India. The Rev. H. C. Bourne, of Napier, came to town by the Rotorua train last night, and is putting up at the Star Hotel. He leaves shortly on a visit to the Old Country. Mr. W. A. Walsgrove, of Coventry, England, who has been spending tha past fortnight in Auckland, will leave for the south to-mght by the Maia Trunk express, Mr. and Mrs. W. Worrall, Australian vi3itor3 on a tour of the Dominion, who have been staying at the Star Hotel, were passengers for Wellington "by tha Track train last night. Mr and Mrs A. G. Saunders and Mr T. F. Thompson, of Wellington, who have been stopping at the Royal $otel during their stay in Auckland, left this morning on a week's visit to the hot lakes district. Mrs Jordan, whose death is announced to-day, arrived in Aucklind, with her husband, Mr Joseph Jordan, in May, 1883. She taught a. school at Bayfie T d r Ponsonby, which wa3 eventually absorbed by the State school. "TOr H. J. H. McGowan, ex-Minister o{ Mines, will perform tha opening ceremony. Messrs. H. Shaw (president), T. B. Howarth. (vice-president), and E. W. Evans and G. O/Halloran, jun. Accountants and Auditors' Association, left by the through train last night to attend the half-yearly meeting of the Council at WellingtonMr. John Greenwood, den-tist, and an old resident of Nelson, died unexpectedly; on Sunday night. Mr. Greenwood, who was 77 years of age, came to New Zealand in 1347, and liacf practised in varioua places in the Dominion. He leaves a, grown-up family, one of whom is Dr. Greenwood, the well-known tuberculosis • specialist, of Christchurch. The Very Rev. Father dune, superior i of the Redemptorist Order in New Zea- ! land, came up from Wellington by the ' i Main Tiunk train this morning, and i» j the guest of Bishop Lenrhan during bis stay here. He is conducting a. retreat for the Children, of Mary and Guard" of Honour at St. Patrick's Cathedral this week, and win preach at flic- Cathedral on Sunday evening-. He will return to Wellington probably on Monday next.
