INFANT'S BODY FOUND.
BURIED IN* A GARDES. ifr. .Tervis Wright, who lives in Claude-road. Epsom, was digging, in hi 3 ! garden, when he came upon the re- ; ; mains of what appeared to have been la. newly-born child. He covered the corpse again, and reported the matter ;to the police. Sergeant McPhee, of j Newmarket, went at once to Mr. Wright"3 property, and dug up the corpse, which, was subsequently taken to the morgue. The body -was somei what decomposed, indicating that it . had been buried for some time, perhaps i a mouth. A post-morteia examination \ was made tlm morning, at the conclu- ! siou of which, an inquest was opened i before the Gity Coroner, Mr. T. i Gresham. I The body was that of a full-term male i child. Mr. Wright first discovered i-t at about 4 p-m- on Sunday, the sth inst, and the information concerning the discovery reached the police at 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon. After formal evidence as to the identification of the body as j that found in the garden had been taken, the inquest was adjourned until Tuesday, 29th September, at l<) ajn-, with a proviso that should the police conclude their inqurics before that date the jury shou'd . be called together earlier.
