A meeting of creditors in the estate of Demetre George* hawker, of Auckland, who was recently adjudicated bankrupt by Mr. Justice Edwards in the Supreme Court, -was held this afternoon- The bankrupt is now in Sydney, and Mr. H. Singer, who appeared for the petitioning creditor, Mr. Joseph Whitefield, stated that, so far as were known, the other creditors were Messrs. D. S. Dyer, Kempthorne Prrsser and Co-, G. A. Baker, and F. Gormley. Mr. Singer stated that the debtor had left New Zealand three weeks last Monday, and a warrant had been issued for his arreat. The man; would, however, not be brought back to Auckland before Monday week. The Acting Assignee (Mr. H. granted as adjournment sine die.
