An important land sale was held this afternoon, at the auctum rooms of Messrs: Samuel "Vaile and Sons, incorporating Ward Bake -. There was a large attendance, "and bidding was brisk. Up to the time we went to press the following properties,"had-been sold:—A six-roomed dwelling'and"an allotment, 20ft. x 200 ft., £215; a farm, containing 14a 2r, with-ai-five-roomed dwelling at Waikumete, £295; a two-storey, double-fronted , store... and- - dwelling of j seven roomgj and land measuring . 2r. 17per., at Kawakawa, together with six : acres of rich river fiat, near railway | station at Kawakawa, £785; 43-acre section at Kawakawa. £61; a, section of i lr. 38per. at Taumaere, £15. A five- | roomed villa at Mount Roskill, a residence' Mauhgawhau-road, Khyber 'Pass, a working man's cottage in Russellstreet, Arch Hill,- and -a seven-acre section at Waikumete, were also submitted, but' the offers- failings to reach the reserves, they were passed, in.- The sale was proceeding as wo went to press.
