About the age of three one of my boye was very Bllent and very shy with a lady friend, who was vainly endeavouring te make him speak. She at last said to him, "There, I dont believe you have got a tongue." He surprised us by very quickly answering. "Yes, I hay got one iv my boot."—MßS ENGLIbn. INDEPENDENT. At church when the plate was abont to be brought round we discovered Sybla (thrw years old) had her purse with her. "Whet the man comes round with tbe sins I viiui to pay for myself," she lisped.—HJt,
