A GREAT SHOW.

, TO-JIOKKOW'S EXHIBITION.

To-morrow the annual show of the Agricultural Association will be opened. The work of judging will be commenced at 9 o'clock in the morning, and it is hoped that this year it will be completed in quick time. The arrangements for the facilitating of the judging are said to be excellent, and those responsible for them expect to have the results complete in record time.

The entries for the show are very iliuch larger th.in the entries of any previous year, and the event of 1908 is reasonably expected to excel all the shows which have ever been held in Auckland.

The exhibitions of horses and cattle will be the a;re.at features of the show. In these classes the entries show a wonderful increase, and from what could be seen of those at the ground this afternoon the quality would not shame the iinest exhibition in the universe.

In the sheep classes it will be very gratifying to those who have made arrangements to visit the show to know that the most prominent breeders of tbe North Island arc to be well represented, these gentlemen having arrived with some very good animals for exhibition. In other respects—in all respects, in f ac t—the great agricultural event of the year will be a credit to the Association, and the pride of the farming community of the Auckland province. The attendances at this year"s show will, so far as can be judged, be a record. This will, of course, help to swell the financial side of the exhibition, which, too, is expected to be better than in preceding seasons. OTAGO SHOW. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUXEDIX, this day. The Otago Agricultural Show opened in tine weather. In sheep, record exhibits are penned, the strongest classes being Koinney Marsh, and Border and English Lcicesters. In Merino, Watson Shennan won unopposed. N. M. Orbell scored most points in Border Leicesters, but J. Gciiimcll won the championship for rams, and J. Ross the championship for ewes. The competition for English Leicesters was confined to E. Kelland and A. Murdock, and Kelland won all along the line. In Lincolns, all the exhibits except two were shown by the S.'A.A. and Land Co., but Seth .Smith secured the championship for rams. In Shropshire Downs Seth Smith was also successful.

In Shorthorns, Arthur Chamberlain (Ellesinere) won the classes for all-aged bulls, two-year-old bulls, yearling bulls, all-aged cows, three-year-old heifers, cow and two of her progeny, and the championship bull. John Deans' Estate won ill two-year-old heifers, yearling heifers, 3 cows, and championship cow. In Ayrshires. A. McKerrow's bull won the championship. The principal winner in other classes was A. Gillies, whose Reta 111. was deemed the best cow.

In pigs, the pool was swept by Charles Brice, of Christchureh.
