' NATIVE BIFLESMATCH. 1 " The No.' 3 Native Rifles commenced the shooting season at Peurose on Saturday last, with a match l for. Lieutenant G. T. Kretschmar's half-yearly medal. The conditions were seven shots and one sighter optional, at 200 yards. The short range was" chosen so as-to give-the'young shots a chance. ' The following are the- scores, with the handicaps:— Private Colquhoun (handicap scratch), first match 33, second 32-r65; Col.-Sergt-King (1). 20, 32—€2; Sergt. Daniels (12), 25, 25—62: rrivate Hall (11), 28, 22—61; Private Griffiths (18), 16, 23—57; Private Hill (14), 18, 24, 56; Private Chamberlain (18), 16, 20—54; Private Cameron! (18), 19, 16—53; Sergeant C. S. Hogan (6), IS, 21—45; Bugler Darby (20), 13, 12—45! Lance-Corp. Harkness (20). Iβ, 9—45; Private Huntly (14), 18, 10—42; Private tV'elham (18), 12, 12—42; Corp. The Newton Rifles fired the second handicap competition at Penrune on Saturday, for a marksman's outfit, the conditions being two shoots at 200 yds.. : The following are the highest scores:—Frivate hooper,- 42 and 41 (handicap 15)— total Sβ; Corp. Mc- • Gee, 46 and 45 (scratch) —91; Sergt. MacKerras, 42 and 45 (4H-01; Sergt. Beasley. 36 and 36 aO)—82; Pvt. Metcalf, 29 arid 30 (21)—80; Pvt. Davis, 30 and 37 (12)-^-79. The following are the total scores for the two competitions completed:—Corp. McGee, first competition at 600 and 700 yds 71; second competition at 200 yds 91—^total 162; Sergt Mackerras, 69, '91—ISO; Pvt. Cooper, 50, 08—157; Pvt Davis, 74, 79—153; Pvt. Metcatt, 61, SO—141; Sgt Beasley, 29, 82— 311. The third and last competition at 200 and 500 yds will be fired on.Saturday next, October 24th. . .
