WAIHI STANDARD. At an extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the Waihi "Standard G.M. Co., Jield this afternoon, the resolution to wind up voluntarily, amd appoint Mr. J. \V. Xichot ss liquidator, was adopted, on the motion of the chairman, Mr. W. Eddo-wes, seconded by Mr. W. Blomfield. MJ2N~E MANAGERS' REPORTS. • Tairna Extended. —No; ■ 2 ievel has been extended v totd! distance of 63ft. The class Of country being passed through is of a 6plenilicl description for gold, and should the same continue until the reef is intersected ~ he has little floubt that the same will prove to be of a payable nature. May Queea.—The drive on the reef southward in the Queeu of Beauty Ho. 0 level is SOft from the break, and the quartz has shown more or less gold at each breaking down. In the workings from the northern crosscut on the branch of the ,So. 4 lode the eastern junction with the main body ■has Dot yet been reached, but it may be met with now at any time. This lode has now been driven on for about 100 ft, and preparations are being made for stoping. iitoping operations above No. 5 level on the footwall branch are still producing good quality ore. and crushing will be commenced early nest wuek. Waitangi.—The main rise 6n the reef at the low level is up 19ft above the back of made is due to the fact that the rise is being carried up for a length of 30ft, and the work is realJy stoping out a block on the reef for a length of 30ft. The hangingwaU portion of the reef for about 4ft is being broken out, and the quartz is still looking well going upwards, and is being carefnlly selected in different grades. The crosscut at No. 2 ievel has not yet intersected the reef, bat the face has now reached a point where the reef may be met with at any time. Albumin.—The rise is now up 323 ft in the footwall country, and the reef itself has not been seeu for some distance. It is intended to continue the rise in a regular course until the Sons of level is reached, and good ventilation secured, thus enabling prospecting works to be carried on at the difreef can be tested at various points between the two levels. New Sylvia.—The drive on the course of the main reef is 19ft south of the crosscut. The reef is 6ft wide, and has shown great improvement, colours of gold being occasionally seen in the stone. About 3ft of the hangingwall carries a rich percentage of galena, yellow of copper ore, which carries ■very high values by assay. There is a band of mineralised ore crossing the face of the drive, fully 20in wide. Three samples of ore gave the following assay results: — Ko. 1 sample: Highly mineralised ore. £25 3S/5. No. 2: Small white looking quartz £5 17/9. No. 3 sample: £2 15/9 per ton. The water m the face of the drive is stiU Very bearr. Old Hanraki.—ln the drive south, 300 ft level, the No. S reef averages 9in of splendid looking ore. but no gold was seen in the ore broken this week. In the third stope, the best branen averages 4in, and colonrs of gold are got by dish tests. At the 220 ft level the country in the drive west of the slide in Bunker's section is of a first-class description, and full of mineral veins. At the 160 ft level pinking on Legge's reef is about to be started. Old Kapanga.—The pump has been working smoothly, and the one lost some months ago will soon be ready to take its place. Royal Oak.—Tie winae is.down 6ft. The lead averages 3in, and lias produced 101 bs of rough picked stone. A small stringer about half to one inch in width was discovered in the foorsrall of the tribute reef. it shows dabs of gold, and warrants more work beicjj done upon it. Golden jf ah- —In the leading stope Davies' lead lias bees disturbed, and therefore has shown little gold during the week. The winze on the Tribute lead is down 60ft, and a start has been made to drive. Alrout ISm of favourable looking qoartz is showing in the face, and after driving 12ft, Davies' lead should be met with, vchen better results may be espected. Tairua Golden Hals.—At No. 2 level 145 feet lias been driven south of the crosscut. -The re«f in present face being' fully 4ft wide, the last assays giving good results. A deviation in the course of the crosscut at this" level has been made towards the j north-east crosscut recently started, a contract of 100 ft of driving having been let. Excellent progress has been made with the north-east crosscui; during the past week, present face being 70ft from starting point, and well timbered. At No. 3 level, the south drive on No. 1 reef is developing ore body containing highly payable values, the present force looking exceptionally well, and distant from crosscut M>3ft- There is no sign of hangingwail, a shot, however, }s at intervals put in the side, which discloses ore of similar quality to that taken out in the drive. The rise from this level is up 3ft. the lode maintaining Its favourable appearance.'and sixe, and prospects
