The Council. continued the president, had. with a great measure of success, interested itself in endeavouring to get better postal facilities, and had taken itrto consideration the loan proposals of the , borongh rating on unimproved value, the | matter of the Tamaki and Waikoto canals' I routes, pablic holidays, affairs iv conoecticm with the better management of tile Maimkau Harbour, and other matters. ! Financial.—The balance-sheet showed the; receipt;* had been £ltS 5/6 from subscriptions. ' and the expenditure fU 4/0. tie balance ] therefore being £10 1/6. On the motion of I thp president and Mr Jenkins the report and the balance-sheet wore adopted. Officers. —Officers were elected as follows:—President. Mr J. Row*-: viee-presi dent, Mr .T. W.
