PROMOTION OF THE TOUR. CLAIM FOR GATE MONEY. i SYDNEY, June 23. R. Jack, who conducted the early negotiations for the visit of the Maori ' team with Albert Asher, brought an 1 equity suit against Asher and the members of the team to-day, claiming commission on the takings. After Jack had initiated the negotiations, the matter was taken over by the New South Wales League. Plaintiff claims that he made an agreement with Asher to take five per cent of the team's gate money, and to divide the commission with Asher, for the latter's. part in completing the arrangements. Asher, in a letter, alleges that he offered Jack 2i per cent of the team's share of the first gate, but never agreed to. pay commission. . . Defendant was allowed 20 days ".to enter an ..clearance to the suit.
