FAREWELL TO REV. FATHER HOLBROOK.
On Thursday afternoon the children ° f ®- prick's schools tendered the Rev. Father Holbrook a farewell social, on his departure for Cambridge. Du ring the afternoon addresses, voicing the gratitude of the pupils for his many kindnesses, as also their regret at his departure, were read by Jthses Leonora Foley n^! e r n loy ' at the Elusion of which the little ones handed Fr Hoi brook elaborate, bouquets. The presentation, which took the form of a hand some dinner set, together with a beautifully hand-painted tea set, was made on behalf of _ the pupils by Bey. Fr. Murphy who spoke in eulogistic terms of Fr. Hoibrook's good works in the parish, and particularly the interest taken by him in the day and Sunday-schools. The Rev. Fr. Holbrook thanked the children in happy terms for their kindness, and assured them that he would carry with him happy remembrances of the "y ears s P ent in connection with St. Patrick's Cathedral Schools. The function was brought to a close with a farewell chorus, specially composed for the occasion. A capital musical programme was also presented.
