The Labour members of the-House of Commons, and some members of the • Liberal party will present a memorial to ' King Edward that in view of the terrible * events in Russia and the nature of its Government his visit should not be of a State or official character. Mr. Ramsay MacDona'ld, the wellknown Labour M.P., in an article in the "Labour Leader," calls the Czar a common murderer, and says that he is re- ; sponsible for all the bloodshed, torture, and pain daily inflicted in Russia. He urges the Labour party to hold hundreds of meetings on Sunday pressing King Edward to cancel his visit and thus rafrain from hurting the feelings of his people who .now hung their heads in shame. " : "While offering the right hand of fel- " lowship to the Russian people," he con- ■' tinues, "upon the Czar we bestow our J spittle of contempt." t
