« HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The final production of " The Scarlet Pimpernel" was staged at His Majesty's Theatre: last night, before a large and appreciative-audience. This evening "The Prisoner of Zenda" will be staged. There are very few plays that can lay claim to interest theatre-goers as " The Prisoner of Zenda " —which was first produced some years ago, with Mr. Julius Knight as King Rudolph, and Rudolph Rassendyll, by "Mr. T. C. Williamson's dramatic company. As a play it appeals to all, whilst as a spectacle there can be no doubt that it has never been excelled). The cast is almost an entirely new one. Miss Ola Humphreys is to be seen as Princess Flavia, and- comes to us with high credentials from Sydney and Melj bourne, whilst Mr. Knight will resume his performance of the dual character. But four nights are announced for this ! revival, and the booking gives promise of a most successful season. OPERA HOUSE. There was a large attendance at the Opera House last . evening. The star turn of the performance was that of Mr. Hugh Lloyd upon-his "corde. elastiquc." This remarkable act aroused the keenest interest, and ■ was followed by. an outburst of applause. No end of merriment was caused by.the first of a ser-: j ies of amateur rope-walking competitions, inaugurated last evening. Over . a dozen competitor's attempted to reach ' the goal, and, though none were successful, the greatest amusement prevailed throughout this portion of the programme. The Harmonious Huxhamsare pronounced favourites, and are really clever musical merrymakers. The programme is a lengthy one, and'will be repeated each evening.
