AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. His Majesty's Theatre was again packed to its utmost capacity last night, and from present indications it appears that "The Scarlet Pimpernel" will draw crowded houses for the full seven nights of its run. Among those present at last evening's performance were his Excellency the Governor, Lady Plunket, and party. The progress of the play was followed by the large audience with the keenest interest, and in response to enthusiastic recalls, the curtain was raised at the conclusion of each act, -while Mr. JuEus Knight and Miss Ola Humphrey bowed their acknowledgments. "The Scarlet Pimpernel" will 'be staged until Tuesday evening. "The Prisoner of Zenda," a dramatisation of Anthony Hope's powerful novel, by Edward Rose, will be the company's next production, and will be staged on "Wednesday next and three following evenings. The revival of this play after so many years will no doubt he warmly welcomed by Auckland theatregoers.' Mr. Julius Knight appears in the dual role of Rudolph Rassendyll and the imprisoned King; while Miss Ola Humphrey -will play Princess Flavia. The box plans for this production will be opened at Wildman and Arey's to-morrow morning. THE OPERA-HOUSE. The Opera House, last night was filled to overflowing, and applause was frequent. The star attraction is Hugh Lloyd's extraordinary performance on the corde elastique. Another striking performance is that given by T. Bryant, a manipulator of a strange assortment of weapons, electric globe and batons. The moving pictures by the Warwick bioscope are also exceptionally good.
