MATAMATA BRANCH. The annual meeting of the Jlatamata branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Cnion wus held on the 14tU inst. Mr. Bowler occupied the chair. The financial statement showing a credit balance of £V 2 i:>/- was passed. The number of financial members was the lotnl membership being BK. Mr. Bowler, acting-president, read his annnal re-pon. which showed that -rood work had heen done by the farmers. The union had used ii.s powers in assisting to .secure optional tenure-, improvements in the loral station yards and a market for pips, nnd were further using their efforts in procuring n station muster. Magistrate's court, letter boxes, and better aoromruodatiou for their meetings. One of the most important branches of their work was the farmers' co-operation iv the purchase of manures. The following officers were elected: Chairman. Mr. A. Bowler; vice-chairman. Mr. \V. Stoup: secretary. Mr. S. (!unn; treasurer. Mr. Livingstone: auditor Mr. E. C. Banks: committee. Messrs. Battisou, Towers, F. Bowler. Simpson. Green, Pickup. Young, I'ohlen. Moore, and Grant. Delegates to the annual provincial conference fin May -Jlst and -.'2nd, the chairman, Mr. Bowler, and (he secretary, Mr. Gunn. It was decided 10 instruct the delegates to bring before the conference for consideration: 1. The removal of restrictions now placed upon the English bone meal- 2. The inefficient method of providing trucks at £lag stations.
