SUNDAY TRADING.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—Pleased to see through your paper that our police are doing something to stop Sunday trading in refreshments, etc. We have a strict law for public bouses, tobacconists, etc., against Sunday trading, and 1 for one would like'to see it generally enforced. Without entering into the religious side of the matter, surely six days are enough work for any business man, and if he has to open on the seventh, it is either a sign of poor business ability or greed of lucre. The latter, I'm afraid, most often the case. The Sunday trader competes unj fairly with decent people who believe in a fair thing, and some little respect for the sacredness of one day a week. Ano-j-ther aspect, and the. most serious one, is, do all these refreshment dispensers stop at refreshments? Hoping to see our bench take a sensible view of the matter, if they wish to keep "God's own country" worthy of its name, I am etc ) ONE WHO KNOWS.
