THE MAYOR'S GARDEN PARTY.
t His Worship the Mayor of Auckland (Mr. A. M. Myers) and Mrs. Mvers are holding a garden party at their resi- ■ dence, Cintra, Symonds-street, this afternoon. There is a very large assemblage of guests, and the grounds, which , lend themselves peculiarly to this kind ;01 function, look' altogether delightful i the natural beauty of the surroundings' : being considerably enhanced by the pretty summer frocks of the lady visij tors. i The First BaUalion Band and a strin° j orchestra, under Mr. Burke, are in a£ I tendance. I A green marquee has been erected, covering the whole of the tennis court, which has been prettily decorated.' Here and there are dotted pretty little round tables, on which refreshments are served, and an air of enchantment is lent to the scene by the dainty colouring of the floral decorations.
