Premier of South Australia, interviewed by "The Morning Post," explained that Australia's attitude in the matter of military defence ffasnartly prompted by fear that a great jTfatening of China, might constitute a jdlow peril, and also that Australia deaiaJ to fulfil her part in Imperial defence. He declared that protection trao for Australia a fixed policy vrith preference to England allowed for. He declined to discuss home labour problems, but declared that the English, investor need jot fear confiscation or breach of esistmsr agreements.
