—= —-■ « _ % KAURI GUM MARKET. Auckland Star Office, Wednesday, March ISth, 1908. Business in the kann gum market still continues very dull, although this- week there appears to be a slightly better inquiry, but at rates which do not lead to much business. The supplies continue to show a very serious falling off, the shortage for the two months and IS days of the present year now totalling 663 tons, as compared with the quantity sent in. last year for a similar period. The production for the IS days of March, or rather the amount sent in for that period, was 262 tons, as compared with 34S tons for the same period last month, and 437 tons for the same date last year. The accumulation of stocks since the beginning of the year, however, totals 379 tons in Auckland, but, as in a normal season the average export amounts to over 600 tons of gum per month, once the orders set ia again it will not take long to clear, this market. Of course, the whole position depends upon orders from abroad, and buyers still appear to be holding off. AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE MARKETS. ■ (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) (Received 10.45 a.m.).
