I place outside of Okahit Point. He stated J that when large quantities of offal had to be dealt with, they were taken to i Uakino and x>l° u ghed in for manure. - Air. .Sandford added that Dr. Purdy (district health officer) agreed with him i j that there would be uo danger oi pollut- I - j ing the water of the harbour. The | ; Chairman said this letter was the outj ; come of the harbourmaster finding that ? ! it was the custom to deposit fish heads ; ! etc. in the harbour. The Cify Council " ; refused to take it into the destructor. - | The letter was referred to the committee, j • j Hohsonviile Wharf.—The ratepayers ; • and settlers of Hobsonville petitioned | the Harbour Board that the wharf -at that place be widened to i take wheel traffic. Mr. James A\". J Linton, storekeeper, wrote, stating that 5 there was not room to stow the goods j on the wharf, and that if the structure c was widened about seven feet carts 1 could be got down, and thus the goods s could be speedily removed. The letter c was referred to the committee. Coal Bins. Hallway AVhart".—.James v Smith wrote that the termination of his - occupancy of the coal bin on the railway wharf would be a serious inconvenience J to him. and mean a loss of £.30 per t annum to the Board. He asked to be f | allowed to continue use of the bin at ' the same rental, subject to three months' 1 notice from the Board to remove. Mr. t Napier moved that the previous decision " of the Hoard be adhered to. They could ~ not give one coal dealer a monopoly to : a part of the wharf.
