Shore and St. L 'c George's pressed hard, and a little while afterwards Waitemata fell back beaten, and (i the race was fought out between West End, Shore, and St. George's, the two latter q, crews rowing at a great pace. A quarter of a mile from home St. George's were leading, (i I with Shore close up, aud West End coming along nicely a length further back. For the g last hundred yards a desperate struggle between St. George's and Shore resulted in a win for Shore by a canvas from St. George's, who were a couple of lengths in front of West End. At half way Warren, b though in the lead, was rolling badly, whilst Harper was taking things easily. From then on Warren scenied to settle to his o, business, and working fcard. put in some clean stroke. Harper getting in front. C] Warren put in a tremendous effort, but his right arm suddenly seemed to give way, aud from that on he was unable to steer a f< course, and Harper passed the judge an easy first.
