GOVERNMENT INTENTIONS. (By v Telegraph.— Associailoa.)' WELLINGTON, this day. The oyster beds on Waiheke' Island and !in the Bay of Islands will probably be i opened on May Ist. [ The Marine Department will employ ' experienced men to do the picking-, so j that only the-largest oy-stere are taken. jA- depot .will be established in AnelcJ land, and all the oysters, with the except tion of those sold to settlers in the neighbourhood of the beds*- will be sent, for distribution to various parts-of the j Dominion. Sjuantities of not "less than a sackful will be sold at a gpfice which will be below that rising for soma' years. The Department i* satisfied that tile supply ' will be fully equal to the demand. The beds in the Bay of Islands are said to be in magnificent condition.
