HOSPITAL ACCOMMODATION.
THE BUILDINGS IN THE DOMAIN-
At the meeting of the Hospital Board yesterday afternoon a communication was received from the Board's architect with reference to the decision of the Board to remove the smaller of the two buildings erected at the time of the plague scare on the Domain to Point Chevalier. He advised the Board to have this done by public tender. The larger of the two buildings was being retained in case it might be required for the temporary ho using of typhoid cases.. Aβ it was quite possible that the accommodation would be inadequate to the demands, he suggested that the smaller' building be also retained until such time' as the medical authorities considered it was not likely to be required. For if it should be removed and extra accommodation should be required, tents would have to be erected on -wooden platforms, and difficulty would be experienced in laying on gas, water, drains, and erecting sanitary fittings. He had discussed the matter with the chairman, and these suggestions were the outcome of the interview. Arrangements had" been made whereby the necessary connections of water, gas, etc., could be immediately made. The suggestion was agreed to.
