At last night's meeting of the Court Pride of Onehunga, A.0.F., Bro. Shaldrick, on behalf of the members, presented Bro. Stichbury, who is leaving for England, with a case of pipes and a gold-mounted cigar and cigarette holder. The recipient was also handed for Mrs Stichbury a travelling rug manufactured at Onehunga. Several speeches were made eulogistic of Mr Stichbury's work in connection with the organisation. There was a large attendance at Mr. Neville Newcomb's sale rooms to-day, when the following properties were disposed of:—Villa in St. Marks-road, Remuera/Dilworth leasehold, £475; Silverton Estate, lots 10, 11, and 12. IS acres, £60 per acre, and.lots 8 and 9, 13 acres, £55 per acre; house in Surreycrescent with allotment 40 by 115, £575; property of two villas in Richmondavenue, £580. A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that their Excellencies Lord and Lady Plunket and party returned to Wellington in the Tutaneka* . last evening. They will stay in Wellington for a few days before resuming" their trip south in the same steamer. The party will visit the West Coast Sounds and Stewart Island. Thomas McConnell, tailor, of Auckland, who' was recently adjudicated a bankrupt, states that his total debts amount to £213 0/8. His assets, including stock-in-trade, valued at £65, and book debts estimated, to produce £125, total £192 17/6, leaving an apparent deficiency of £20 3/2.
