HARBOUR BOARD.
The Harbour Board met this afternoon. New Member.—Mr A. E. Glover, appointed by the City Council to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr C. J. Parr, was welcomed by the chairman. Dumping Building Not a Factory.—The secretary to the Harbour Association forwarded a copy of judgment given at Christchurch, in which the magistrate decided that a building in which the operation of ■"dumplns" takes place is not a factory.— The letter was received. Horses ou the Beach.—The clerk to the Devonport Borough Council has written asking the Harbour Board to co-operate in the matter of preventing the dangerous prac tice of driving horses down to the beach, such horses not being under proper control. The Board decided to ask that the complainant supply names of the offenders. . Offer for Allotments.—Messrs. K. O. Clark ■wrote offering to rent the two sections in Hobson-street. adjoining Messrs. Wilson and Co. The letter was referred to the Board in committee.
