As showing the increased violence with which the several species of fruit fly hare attacked New Zealand this year, it may be mentioned that while last year ! tie "number of cases condemned :it \V<?l--lington was 1025. the number alreadj' con- i demned during the first nine months of ! the present year, the year h?ing reckoned i from April to March, has been 1431. and there are three heavy months still to come. Importers seem to have | beeoina fairly well accustomed to the continued condemnations, and treat their j misfortunes philosophically. I
